Why Family Photography is so Important
One of my favorite things to do when I visit my family is to look through old photo albums. I love seeing pictures of my parents and grandparents when they were younger. I also love seeing photos of my siblings and I together through the years. In this day and age when everyone can take photos with their phones, there are still reasons why professional photography is worth the investment…
Quality, Quality, Quality
No matter how you slice it, a cell phone photo will not beat the quality of a photo taken with a professional camera. Professional photos are heirlooms that will last a lifetime, and be passed down for generations to come.
Lighting, Posing, Enhancing
Everyone wants to look their best in photos. A professional photographer knows how to use light effectively to make photos more visually appealing. Gorgeous light – when used correctly – can turn a mundane photo into a fabulous one! A professional photographer also knows how to pose and guide families, and edit photos in a way that is creative and beautiful. This makes the photos a bit more interesting and less like a regular snapshot.
Everyone in the Frame
Often times, parents are running around snapping thousands of photos of their kids, but when those kids grow up, don’t you think they’ll want photos that include their parents? Your children will want to see YOU. Get in the frame. Sure, you can have an extended family member or friend take some photos for you, BUT…refer back to my previous two points!
Take some time to really think about the importance and value of photographs. The investment is worth it. We invest in so many other things that we think are important – getting our hair colored, getting our nails done, going out to eat, going to movies, concerts and museums. Where does a professional family photo session fall on your list of priorities? Families grow and change…FAST. Start documenting your family now because before you know it, the kids will be heading off to college and then starting families of their own. I can guarantee you that one day you and your children will treasure having professional family photos to look back on more than anything else.
